Are automotive industries becoming much more similar to IT companies?

Following jobs posting is one of my favorite hobbies on LinkedIn. I think that it is an excellent way to look at how companies intend to change or evolve.

Take a look at the jobs posting shown in the picture. In the business-as-usual realm, they could be requests coming from an IT company. Instead, they come from an automotive company.

In the actual business realm, artificial intelligence systems are heavily applied to provide new and useful services to the customer base. For this reason, the tendency of the last few years is to move in-house, competencies formerly located in IT companies.

Within this context, how should IT companies still provide their typical services? For instance, how to sell forecasting software to an energy company? This is the new challenge we are going to face.
